1. SCO Secretary-General in India to Hold Talks with Union Ministers

i. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Secretary-General Rashid Kutbiddinovitch Alimov arrived in New Delhi to hold talks with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other Union ministers. Alimov is scheduled to hold talks on a wide array of matters.
ii. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will hold a bilateral meeting with Alimov in Delhi.

2. CBDT Approves Amendment of India-Kuwait Tax Agreement
i. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) notified the protocol amending the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between India and Kuwait.
ii. The protocol updates the provisions in the DTAA for the exchange of information as per international standards, and also enables sharing of information received from Kuwait for tax purposes with other law enforcement agencies, subject to an authorization of the competent authority of Kuwait and vice versa.

3. India, Sri Lanka Agree on Information Exchange for Drug Control
i. India and Sri Lanka agreed on cooperation on exchange of information and other aspects to tackle smuggling of drugs in both countries.
ii. A decision to this effect was taken at the third bilateral meeting between delegations from India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Sri Lanka’s Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) on narcotics, drugs and psychotropic substances and related matters in New Delhi.

4. Skill India Organized ‘Ajeevika and Kaushal Vikas Mela’ in Bhubaneswar
i. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), together joined hands to amplify the “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan” of the current incumbent government which is promoting social harmony and awareness around the pro-poor initiatives of the government.
ii. MSDE organized a Kaushal and Rojgar Mela at New Women’s College in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where more than 5000 people from different walks of life participated.  More than 29 states of art multi-skill ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras’ were also launched digitally across the country.

5. Social Justice Ministry Organised ‘Cochlear Implant Awareness Programme’
i. The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organized a ‘Cochlear Implant Awareness Programme’ at Huda Convention Centre in Faridabad, Haryana.
ii. The Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Krishan Pal Gurjar was the Chief Guest in the programme. Under the Assistance to Disabled persons (ADIP) scheme of the DEPwD, there is a provision for Cochlear Implant surgeries of hearing impaired children up to the age of 5 years at the cost of Rs 6.00 Lakhs per unit.

6. Vladimir Putin Sworn-In as Russian President for the 4th term

i. Vladimir Putin was sworn-in as the President of Russia for the fourth time, renewing another six-year term in office.
ii. Putin, who has ruled the country as either President or Prime Minister since 1999, won the presidential elections in March with over 76% of the votes.

7. Venkaiah Naidu 3-Nation Visit: Arrives in Guatemala on 1st Leg
i. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu arrived in Guatemala on the first leg of his three-nation tour to Latin America. During his stay in Guatemala city, Mr. Naidu will meet the leadership of the nation, with various MoUs expected to be signed.
ii. The discussions will focus on exploring mutual areas of cooperation and formalizing various MoUs in the fields of protection of wildlife, human resource training, education and exchanges between training institutes.

8. RBI Announced Rs10,000 Crore Bond Purchases
i. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that it would buy Rs. 10,000 crore ($1.50 billion) of government bonds via open market operation (OMO), after failing to sell all the debt it had offered to bidders.
ii. The 10-year government bond yield rose to 7.75% from 7.74% before the auction result was announced. The eligible participants should submit their offers in electronic format on the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) system.

9. 3rd South Asian Junior Athletics Championships: India Tops With 50 Medals
i. India finished on top in the 7-nation 3rd South Asian Junior Athletics Championships in Colombo, Sri Lanka on the final day. India ended with 20 gold, 22 silver and 8 bronze medals (Total 50 Medals).
ii. Host Sri Lanka bagged rest of the 12 gold medals in the competition along with 10 silver and 19 bronze. Pakistan won one silver and a bronze to settle for the third place.

10. Renowned Marathi Singer Arun Date Passes Away

i. Veteran Marathi singer Arun Date, known for his popular song “Shukratara” had passed away in Mumbai. He was 84.
ii. He was the first recipient of the state government’s ‘Gajananrav Vatave Puraskar’.Mr Date was very famous for non-film ‘bhavgeet’ (lyrical poetry) songs.

1. भारत में एससीओ महासचिव ने केंद्रीय मंत्रियों के साथ वार्ता आयोजित की 

i. शंघाई सहयोग संगठन के महासचिव रशीद कुट्टीबिद्दीनोविच अलीमोव विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज और अन्य केंद्रीय मंत्रियों के साथ बातचीत करने के लिए नई दिल्ली पहुंचे. अलीमोव ने मामलों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला पर वार्ता आयोजित की है. 

ii.विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज दिल्ली में अलीमोव के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठक आयोजित करेंगी.
  • कजाकिस्तान के अस्थाना में आयोजित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शिखर सम्मेलन में भारत जून 2017 में एससीओ का पूर्ण सदस्य बन गया है.
2. CBDT ने भारत-कुवैत कर समझौते में संशोधन को मंजूरी दी 

i. केन्द्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (CBDT) ने भारत और कुवैत के बीच दोहरे कराधन बचाव समझौते (DTAA) में संशोधन प्रोटोकॉल को अधिसूचित किया है.

ii.प्रोटोकॉल अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों के अनुसार सूचना के आदान-प्रदान के लिए DTAA में प्रावधानों का अद्यतन करता है, और कुवैत से प्राप्त अन्य अधिकार प्रवर्तन एजेंसियों-कुवैत के प्राधिकरण के अधीन और इसके विपरीत कर उद्देश्यों के लिए कुवैत से प्राप्त जानकारी साझा करने में भी सक्षम बनाता है.

3.भारत, श्रीलंका ड्रग कंट्रोल के लिए सूचना विनिमय पर सहमत हुए 

i. भारत और श्रीलंका दोनों देशों में दवाओं की तस्करी से निपटने के लिए सूचना और अन्य पहलुओं के आदान-प्रदान के सहयोग पर सहमत हुए हैं. 

ii.यह निर्णय भारत के नारकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो (NCB) और श्रीलंका पुलिस नारकोटिक्स ब्यूरो (PNB) ने नशीले पदार्थों, ड्रग्स और साइकोट्रॉपिक पदार्थों और संबंधित मामलों पर प्रतिनिधियों के बीच नई दिल्ली में आयोजित तीसरी द्विपक्षीय बैठक में लिया गया.
  • श्रीलंका राजधानी-कोलोंबो (अधिकारिक राजधानी), श्री जयवर्धनेपूरा कोटे (औपचारिक राजधानी), मुद्रा-श्री लंकन रूपी, राष्ट्रपति-मैथ्रिपला सिरिसेना.
 
4. कौशल भारत ने भुबनेश्वर में आयोजित किया ‘आजीविका और कौशल विकास मेला’ 

i. कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय (MSDE) और ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय (MoRD) ने एक साथ मौजूदा सरकार के “ग्राम स्वराज अभियान” को बढ़ाने के लिए हाथ मिलाया है, जो सरकार गरीबों के लिए की गयी पहलों के प्रति सामाजिक सद्भाव और जागरूकता को बढ़ावा दे रहा है.  

ii.MSDE ने ओडिशा के भुवनेश्वर में न्यू विमेन कॉलेज में कौशल और रोजगर मेला का आयोजन किया, जहां विभिन्न पेशों से आये 5000 से अधिक लोगों ने भाग लिया. 29 से अधिक राज्य बहु-कौशल ‘प्रधान मंत्री कौशल केंद्र’ केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस, कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान द्वारा देश भर में डिजिटल रूप से लॉन्च किए गए.

5. सामाजिक न्याय मंत्रालय ने ‘कोक्लेयर इम्प्लांट जागरूकता कार्यक्रम’ आयोजित किया 

i. केंद्रीय न्याय और सशक्तिकरण मंत्रालय के तहत दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग (DEPwD) ने हरियाणा के फरीदाबाद में हुड्डा कन्वेंशन सेंटर में ‘कोक्लेयर इम्प्लांट जागरूकता कार्यक्रम’ का आयोजन किया है. 

ii.सामाजिक न्याय और सशक्तिकरण राज्य मंत्री कृष्ण पाल गुर्जर कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि थे. DEPwD की असिस्टेंस टू डिसेबल्ड पर्सन (ADIP) योजना के तहत, प्रति इकाई 6.00 लाख रुपये की लागत से 5 साल की उम्र तक दिव्यांग बच्चों की कोक्लेयर इम्प्लांट सर्जरी का एक प्रावधान है.
  • कोक्लेयर इम्प्लांट (CI) एक शल्य चिकित्सा प्रत्यारोपित इलेक्ट्रॉनिक उपकरण है जो किसी व्यक्ति को ध्वनि प्रदान करता है जो दोनों कानों से गहराई या गंभीर रूप से बहरा हो.

6. चौथे कार्यकाल के लिए रूसी राष्ट्रपति के रूप में व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने ली शपथ 

i. व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने चौथी बार रूस के राष्ट्रपति के रूप में शपथ ली, कार्यालय में एक और छह साल के लिए नवीनीकृत हुए.

ii.1999 से देश के राष्ट्रपति या प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में शासन करने वाले पुतिन ने 76% से अधिक मतों के साथ मार्च में राष्ट्रपति चुनाव जीता था.

7. वेंकैया नायडू 3-राष्ट्र यात्रा: पहले चरण में ग्वाटेमाला पहुंचे

i. उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू लैटिन अमेरिका के अपने तीन-राष्ट्र दौरे के पहले चरण में ग्वाटेमाला पहुंच गए हैं. ग्वाटेमाला शहर में अपने प्रवास के दौरान, श्री नायडू देश के नेतृत्व को पूरा करेंगे और इस दौरे में विभिन्न एमओयू पर हस्ताक्षर किए जाने की उम्मीद है.

8. RBI  ने 10,000 करोड़ रुपये की बॉन्ड खरीद की घोषणा की 

i. भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) ने खुले बाजार संचालन (OMO) के माध्यम से 10,000 करोड़ रुपये ($ 1.50 बिलियन) सरकारी बॉन्ड खरीदने की घोषणा की. यह घोषणा बोलीदाताओं को दिए गए सभी ऋणों को बेचने में नाकाम रहने के बाद की गयी.

ii.नीलामी के परिणाम की घोषणा होने से पहले 10 साल के सरकारी बॉन्ड में 7.74% से 7.75% वृद्धि हो गई है. पात्र प्रतिभागियों को भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक कोर बैंकिंग समाधान (ई-कुबेर) प्रणाली पर इलेक्ट्रॉनिक प्रारूप में अपने प्रस्ताव जमा करने होंगे.

i. भारत अंतिम दिन पर कोलंबो, श्रीलंका में 7 देशों के तीसरे दक्षिण एशियाई जूनियर एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में शीर्ष पर रहा. भारत ने 20 स्वर्ण, 22 रजत और 8 कांस्य पदक (कुल 50 पदक) के साथ समाप्त किया.

10. प्रसिद्ध मराठी गायक अरुण दाते का निधन 

i. अनुभवी मराठी गायक अरुण दाते, जो उनके लोकप्रिय गीत “शुक्रतारा” के लिए जाने जाते हैं, उनका निधन मुंबई में हो गया है. वह 84 वर्ष के थे. 

ii.वह राज्य सरकार के ‘गजाननराव वातव पुरस्कार’ के पहले प्राप्तकर्ता थे. श्रीमान दाते गैर फिल्म ‘भावगीत’ (गीतकार कविता) गाने के लिए बहुत प्रसिद्ध थे.
